ROI
ROI: Return on Investment. It is there in every action and activity of our life. ROI is the motivation for our actions, for our urge to perform. Since our childhood ROI is the force driving our actions.
When we are kids, we study (investment) to secure good marks (return). We play sports (investment) to build a strong physique and sportsmanship (return). We work hard (investment) for admission in a good college (return), which ultimately is for a bright and opportunistic future (return).
We marry and love our spouse (investment) and we expect his/her love back (return). We have kids (investment) to continue our legacy and to carry on with our family name (return).
We pray to God (investment) as we want His blessings (return). We do charity and good deeds (investment) as we want to secure a place in heaven (return) and avoid the wrath of hell.
This note might sound selfish, but this is my philosophy towards life. Moreover there is no harm in taking inspiration in the form of return from different things, work and give your input thinking it as investment.

wow
was a very good post inline with a layman understanding of ROI,but there are certain things that are unconditional..
"We love our spouse " ,i guess this is really a scary philosophy, since its just unrational,as u are trying to quantify your love to your loved ones..okk u may argue hardwork is also unqauantifiable, but the rate of hardwork is directly proportional to ur end-results..these pattern doesnt seem to apply over here.
praying to god and doing charity comes from heart, not because you want to go heaven.
There are some virtues you are born with and some you encalculate over time....and not always a "force driving our actions"
